democracy Phobia
|
We celebrate democracy day twice a year. Though synonymous to each other, it’s democracy day in February and Loktantra diwas in April In this regard, we should have been the most democratic state in the whole world ironically, we are not. Rather, after almost 55 years of first tasting the democracy, we are still struggling to have stable democracy. Whether it’s Kings or political parties, each opportunity to stabilize country was missed. Mahendra, Birendra, Gyanendra, Girija, Madhav are to be named a few. They just surrendered countries stability, to their own power and wealth monger.
I try to not write about politics but politics has overshadowed everything in my country that what ever i think ends up in politics. If I think of going home forgetting everything and restart from within my relatives and family this freaking politics won’t let me work. Some times i think of starting politics on my own :-) , but what the heck, i can contribute better striking keys of computer rather than convincing people think, what i believe.
oh!! i was about to write something about democracy. Recently, UML had it’s general convention in Butwal. And two of its leaders put forward their candidacy of the president of party. Everybody was trying to convince one of “the other” to withdraw, but in vain. Reports came some threw stones to one of the candidate for not withdrawing. I didn’t understand why a ‘democratic’ party was so scared of election. Election is a democratic procedure, where people elect person who they believe will do better for them. Why would election split a party ?
On the other hand, the oldest party, and self declared “only guard of democracy” of Nepal, took ten months to decide on it’s parliamentary group statutory. Why so long? One freaking question haunted whole party, Who the hell elects the deputy leader of the group? what a question to get stalled for the guard of democracy?
Nepali parties do not have democracy practise on it’s own, how can we believe that the democracy florish in country? We often get hostile to kings for obstructing the path of democracy, but parties are more to blame for. If a dog puts bone aside and fight with other dogs, then if bone gets lost, who to blame? Parties need to cure their demcracy phobia first to get going with country. Nepal has a long way to go before stability. I wish this long way won’t go through bigger humane disasters witnessed in Africas. We have numerous examples though out the world the democracy got in trouble before stabilizing, can’t we just do some case study and learn something before reinventing the wheel again?

MonsterQuest
|
Nepali newspapers are filled with news of a “big foot”. The monster especially targets our dear Maoists leaders. This devil is to blame for all the problems that we Nepalese has been facing. YES!!!! all the problems.
Of course, it is the big-foot who hypnotise our prime-minister to buy Rs.1 crore land cruiser while Mr. Dahal would have walked from baluwatar to singha durbar if there was no security issue. It is the monster who is responsible for the introduction of ordinances in spite the parliament session was just few weeks away. The biggest reason this monster has to be shot to death is “this is stopping our goverment to work for people”.
This beast is more dangerous than any other beast ever discovered in this planet. But how the hell, the Maoists did not find it in 10 years when they were roaming around forests of Nepal. They should have shot with their AK 47 right at head so that it would not have stopped our fav. leaders to work for us. Nevertheless, we are World famous in Nepal for our bravery, we can kill this beast to get rid of all the problems. To hunt down this beast we still have to get the answer of last question “where”, so where the hell is this monster? We can use state-of-art GPS navigator to get to the beast in sea or land or in between we can track down this. Still not a single lead in this monster quest? not a clue? may be our leaders are the disguised monster, who inherited "monsterness" in their "previous life"
ah !!!! so we need to find the monster if it has inherited some human nature.. so that we can put it in "Singha-durbar" Anyway, the Monster quest continues.......

Suicidal Remedial Action
|
“In what appears to be an alternative approach to reduce the never-ending problem of power outage, the cabinet on Monday decided to set up 200-megawatt capacity diesel plant, considering what it called the “emergency situation of national electricity”. Finally the wait is over. Nepal has decided to set a diesel power plant.
I still remember “Nepal is second richest in water resources” taught in my school, and i have no doubt Nepal is the worst hit by petro-crisis, where does this two things match with “the diesel plant”. These Nepalese politicians have no vision, they are spending on product that is 7 times expensive that the hydro. Why don’t they think of setting up small hydro? Nepal is already bankrupt thanks to “bail out” money she is getting from other nations. Oh Gosh !!! This is one of the most pathetic unwise..F***ing decision i have ever heard of..Have they forgotten that we have to transport diesel on trucks..
ah i forgot..they can suck the commission from diesel purchase…oh, i can’t bear this any more..200MW diesel plant..in Nepal….Should i cry or laugh ?? What a shame…

Reversing the Evolution
|
Last week, the world witnessed a devastating attack on Mumbai, unarguably it is a crime against humanity. This is the latest sign that the world is turning dangerous to live in. The world has turned to a mess of hate, cruelty, inhumanity. Humanity has lost its essence of humanity, love. Slowly we are going back to our ancestors (Monkey) reversing the mental evolution. Now, how India reacts to the attacks ? There have been voices raised in India about right to keeps guns (as in US) to protect themselves (?). The numerous fatalities over petty issues in the United States (latest to be in a ToysrUs store in CA) should be taken into consideration before any serious mistakes are done which will make our world more dangerous than ever. The politics of revenge should stop, politics over corpse should end, we should pass some remains of humanity to next generation. No human life is more precious than the other, Live and let others live.

Who will help me?
Related to country: Nepal About this category: Peace & Conflict
|
This boy, Bakhat B.K. is 11 years old. His father was killed by Maoists in 2005, now he is the one who is feeding his granny, mother and sister by carrying loads. He is carrying a load of 30KG from Mangalsen, Achham to Chalsa, Achham, a seven hours walk. Ironically, the load, he is carrying, contains the reading materials donated by UNICEF, for fellow children in schools of his village, Chalsa. He was weeping on his arduous trip with 30 KG load on his back. He was hired by Simal Primary School to carry the load, for which he will get Rs. 150, out of which he spent Rs. 35 to eat "half plate" meal at Mangalsen. There are more than 500 children with similar fate in Aacham alone.

Shameless congress
|
Nepali congress is shocked and and out-of-mind. In their CWC members, corrupts like Govinda Raj, Khum Bahadur, Chiranjibi Wagle are shouting that Maoists intimidated and stole the election from them. It's same that most of congress central committee members are charged with corruption and world knows that true. Mohommad Aftab Alam, Purna bahadur khadka and Khum bahadur has been alleged with murder during election. And they are blaming Moaists for their loss. Gosh!!! they are shameless. Moreover, they are putting forward Girija as prime-minister, in spite of loosing the position of largest party, which they have been chanting for last 9 years. Those who can't run their majority government for 5 years, are claiming to run a coalition government without mandate, what the f***? I have added one of more prerequisite for join congress party in addition to corrupt, insane, you should be able to run in the street without clothes like congress party is doing right now. Here is the name of congress CWC members, and i have added their bio-data in few words
Girija Prasad Koirala - Power lusty, Lauda, responsible for Nepal current situation Sher Bahadur Deuba - No manner to speak, could have gone to sniff Gyanendra's *** if one given prime-minister again Sushil Koirala - पटमूर्ख Ram Chandra Paudel - peace minister who ran away when talks were going on with madhesis Prakash Man Singh - harvesting father's crop Dr. Ram Baran Yadav - Janakpur's don Govinda Raj Joshi - World knows his skill Chiranjibi Wagle - चिरंजीबी नाम नै गाली बनायो Mahesh Acharya - could not be in this position if he was not Sailaja Acharya brother Purna Bahadur Kadka - सुर्खेतको candidate मारेको Dr. Shashanka Koirala - B.P. Koirala's Son Mrs. Sujata Koirala - self declared leader Khum Bahadur Kadka - Murdered 7 in dang in 2064 election and 3 in 2056 election Dr. Shekhar Koirala - found politics profitable than medicine
There are the "leaders" with most infamous portfolio and they are claiming that they lost because of Maoists, when will they realize that they are dancing naked in front of Nepalese for last 20 years and still think that they can fool Nepalese. Haha!!! they will be kicked out of political arena, they don't deserve even 110 seats. At this point Moaists are far better than Congress, though they are also not good enough for Government. Nepalese worse is better than worst. GTH congress

People's Power
Related to country: Nepal
|
Nepal just saw a landslide victory of ex-rebels in the CA polls. It was an unexpected win even for Maoists who had persuaded the then government to defer the polls twice in one year. But , the more important thing in the people’s verdict is that they have overthrown the Nepali Congress and UML literally from root. Almost all “heavy weight” leaders have lost their election, Madhav Nepal, KP Oli, Sushil Koirala have lost moral ground to continue to as prominent leader, those who have taken the election as granted have hopefully got a glimpse of People’s power. Sujata Koirala, Govinda Raj Joshi, Chiranjibi Wagle, Khum bahadur Khadga who have been universally known as corrupt and could even kill hundreds of people without a second thought have been ousted, this is the verdict of People. Now, the set of incompetent leaders have to be wiped out of Nepalese politics board and fresh people should take the lead. After all this is the beauty of Democracy.
On the other hand, Every Nepalese eye are on Prachanda and his party, they have to realize that they are in that position because they are only one option out of many. If they betrayed us, like UML and NC has done over the years, they will be buried underground like Koiralas and Gyanendra. Don’t think people are your followers if they can set you on top they can also bury under ground. If you can’t keep up with the aspiration of people, at least do not betray them. Remember, Gyanendra was also applauded after February 1 move because he was one of the alternatives, he betrayed us and his fate is no more than prisoner inside a luxury dungeon. This is people’s power, this is democracy. Hats off Nepalese voters and beware Maoists, you can be in Gyanendra’s shoes sometime in future.

Polls Concluded
|
Polls concluded, about 60 per cent of voters used their rights to vote. Now, the Kingdom of Nepal is at the verge of extinction to become some form of republic which will be decided in about 2 years from today. The 601 member jumbo constituent assembly need to decide some form of long term visionary policies, so that we stop going towards “stone age”, when whole world is going to explore the space. The tremendous potential of Nepal’s resources need to be cached in coming future, so that the Nepalese abroad could return to Nepal and contribute towards the growth of Nepal. I hope for the best and pray that the leaders show at least some kind of consensus for country’s overall longterm interest.

Mutual Responsibility
|
While watching a TV commercial some days back, i saw a handicapped lady going to vote in her wheelchair in rain. The commercial was giving the message that everyone should fulfill their own responsibility. That means, voter should vote and government should ensure basic needs of it’s people. We are also at final stage of the long awaited consistent Assembly polls this month, so the word “VOTE” suddenly clicked my mind. This is first poll in Nepal since i became eligible for voting, if i was in my country, Would i go to vote? And the answer was No, a big NO. Why? Who would stand in a queue to elect a to be corrupt leader. Alas!! How can i expect somebody to fulfill his/her responsibility if i was not fulfilling mine. It’s moral crime to expect that. If i had voted, then who knows a better one would have won. After all democratic process is a a process of refining, the Bagmati river which is in the form of sewage in Kathmandu regains it’s original form of “Baghdwar” when it reaches Terai, because of oxygen purification. Votes are oxygen, if we don’t give oxygen to our “sewage politics” then we don’t have right to just curse the leaders for condition of our country. The voters also share the responsibility of the aftermath of any poll. Politics is not clean anywhere whether it’s United states or Nepal, but people purify it elsewhere, so we need to do now. This is the right time to kick the butts of leaders, who we don’t think can clear the way to Nepal, that we dream of

Job Vacancy - Manager
|
When i was reading “My exasperation at TU” by Shreeya, something clicked in my head and sat down for this writeup. I am also from the same batch of TU which is yet to be officially “graduated” by TU, probability is much higher that i will be graduated for a higher degree before TU relieves for my bachelors. But, still hopes are on, the “vacant frame” will be occupied with degree of TU. Our own Tribhuvan University stands at 34 rank among “Mega Universities” of the world and certainly it deserves that spot in terms of physical infrastructure and students. I am pretty sure that none of the world universities can even come closer to our mega university in terms of mismanagement.
We have been taught from our childhood that “Education gives wisdom”. We, the alumni of the University know what needs to be done for a better if not excellently, managing the University. We are merely an alumni of just mid 20s of age. I assume that those who are so called “managing” the university, know what needs to be done based on their age and education. So why this chaos even to get a certificate out of the university? It stereotype bureaucracy that wants to carry on legacy of “stone age”. Neither there is reward for good work not penalty for bad. So employees come to spent 7 hours a day at office just to make sure that they get paid at the end of month. I used to be a student of a engineering college funded by the government. Every person, from dean to peon were just using their brain to avoid if some work comes to their way at least for the next day. I was entangled with this bureaucracy a couple of times. Some friends really helped me to pacify the frustration i built afterwards.
Actually, Tribhuvan University’s bureaucracy is only a miniature of Nepalese bureaucracy. Nepal has a vacancy for a good manager not a politician. I guess, Nepalese are the most politically-aware population in the world. Even if you pick one person randomly at Ratna-park , he/she will give a half an hour speech on what should be done by constitutional assembly to be formed. Ironically, our politics is in the hand of “the most” pathetic managers in the world. We seriously should announce a vacancy(elect) for a manager who can at least stop mismanagement.
